Southern Equine Consortium Newsletter

The Southern Equine Consortium Newsletter is a newly created, educational resource for Southeastern region equine owners and equine industry participants. Each issue features timely, research-based information related to the care, management, and enjoyment of horses and other equids. The development of the newsletter represents a collaborative effort between multiple Southeastern equine extension programs to extend knowledge to our readers.

The Central Florida Livestock Agents’ Group would like to invite you to the 2018 Florida Equine Institute & Allied Trade Show! Sept. 20, 2018, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The event is being held at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, 2232 NE Jacksonville Rd., Ocala, FL 34470. This UF/IFAS Extension program, is committed to providing Florida Horsemen and Horsewomen with the most up-to-date equine management information, and a "working" Trade Show. Topics for 2018 include: Horse Pasture: More Than Just a Turnout Paddock, Managing Manure Through Composting, Equine Ophthalmology and Eye Health, Horse Training Methods for Mounted Archery (live animal demonstration), Anhidrosis, Experimental Breakout Sessions including Weed ID, Proper Saddle Fit, and Equine Health and Bio-security.
