Facilities: Beef Research Unit
The Beef Research Unit is located 13 miles northeast of the main University of Florida campus. The unit consists of 1,150 acres on flatwoods-type soils and presently has 275 Angus, Brahman, and Angus/Brahman crossbred cattle. A feedmill facility is utilized to mix rations for research cattle and supply feed for the Beef Teaching Unit. The pasture grasses are pensacola and argentine bahiagrasses. The unit has facilities for students to live and work on the unit.
