Undergraduate Admissions
Students wishing to enter the Undergraduate Program must first apply to the University of Florida and subsequently to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The Department currently has no involvement in the admission process to our Undergraduate Program.
Admission to the University of Florida can occur in several ways:
- Freshman admission
- must have a diploma from an accredited secondary school
- completion of 19 hours in college preparatory courses
- an overall 'C' average in course work
- at least a score of 840 on the SAT with minimum scores of 340 verbal, 400 quantitative and 30 on the Test of Standard Writing English
- Transfer student admission from a Florida Public Community College
- completion of at least 60 semester hours of academic work
- at least 36 hours in an approved general education program
- a grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Transfer student admission from outside the State of Florida
- must have a minimum of 60 semester hours
- must have met the specific course requirements to gain admission into the upper division college of their choice
- must complete and pass the College Level Academic Skills Test
- must have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
