The information below (and linked) was for the 2009 events and has not been updated for 2010. However, many of the details are similar year to year, so this may be used as a reference. Check back here as the event draws closer for more current information.

The FFA State Livestock Evaluation CDE Preliminaries will be held on February 7 at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, and February 20 in Chipley. The State Fair contest on February 7 will also have a small 4-H division. The State 4-H and FFA Livestock Evaluation Contests will be held together in Gainesville on April 4, 2009. Along with the typical "placing four animals" classes, there will be breeding cattle and swine selection classes, market hog evaluation, and feeder and fed cattle evaluation.
