Brooks Equine Genetics Research Lab
FAQ - Basics
Who does the research?
Both graduate and undergraduate students conduct research in the Brooks Lab. Many undergraduate students join the Brooks Lab looking for experience in research and continue on to complete an Honors Thesis. You can see our current roster of lab members and alumni on our “Lab Members” page.
If you are an undergraduate interested in joining our lab, please fill out the Undergraduate Research Application and either email the completed form to equinegenetics@cornell.edu or bring it to Morrison 437.
Can I visit the Brooks Lab?
Some research participants have been so enthusiastic about our research that they have come to visit the lab and meet the researchers in person. While things can get quite busy in the Brooks Lab, we are usually able to schedule a time to meet with visitors. Please contact us to set up a date and time that is convenient for both you and the lab.
How can I help with research?
Since we do not maintain our own research herd, we usually recruit horses through owner participation. If you are a horse owner, please see “Our Research” to see what types of horses we are currently recruiting.
