Santa Fe River Ranch Beef Unit (Boston Farm)
The Santa Fe Beef Unit is located approximately 25 miles NW of Gainesville and supports almost 300 head of Angus and Brahman crossbred cows. This unit is home to the “Multi-Breed Herd.” This unit contains approximately 1,600 acres of pasture and hay land planted to Bahiagrass and Bermudagrass. Teaching and research that includes a series of small (2 acres) experimental paddocks are conducted here. The unit has housing facilities for UF students who work at the unit.
