Food Safety
The food safety group is dedicated to producing safe and healthy food products. Food safety encompasses all aspects of the food supply chain to ensure the delivery of safe food products for human and animal consumption. Research focuses on the entire supply chain with an emphasis on pathogenic microorganisms and food security. In addition, the food safety group helps local and national stakeholders make science- and risk-based decisions to ensure the safety of their products and the health of their customers. We conduct trainings in basic Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
