UF Dairy Internship Program
The UF/IFAS Dairy Unit internship aims to provide students with a hands-on dairy farming experience. Interns will learn how management decisions affect day-to-day operations in a dairy farm, and specialize in 1 of 3 aspects of a dairy farm operation.
- Milk Parlor Operation
Join the parlor crew with training in best management practices for evaluating milk quality, mastitis control, and parlor operation.
- Feeding Operation
Work as part of the feeding crew with hands-on training in the management and evaluation of feed costs, inventory, and ration formulation.
- Herd Management and Reproduction
Join the team in overseeing overall herd management and reproduction, including implementation of breeding programs, sire selection, and culling decisions.
We will start to accept applications again in March 2025, the next interns should be available to start the program in July 2025
