ANS Undergraduate Scholarships

Animal Sciences departmental scholarships are provided through endowments and private donors in support of animal sciences students who exhibit exceptional scholarship, leadership, and professional promise in the animal industry. The criteria for scholarship recognition in the Department of Animal Sciences are laid out by the scholarship donors. If your experience, accomplishments, and/or career interests do not qualify you for any of these animal science scholarships, please apply for the CALS scholarships.

Please review the scholarship descriptions below to determine eligibility. Application is due March 22, 2024!

  • Cecil Webb Scholarship

    Animal Sciences student who exhibits academic strength and leadership.

  • Gwen and Tony J. Cunha Scholarship

    Students who exhibit scholarship, leadership and professional promise in animal agriculture.

  • Koger-Warnick Scholarship

    Student in the Department of Animal Sciences demonstrating leadership, scholarship and professional promise.

  • James Hollis Tillman Scholarship

    Animal Sciences student demonstrating scholarship and an interest in animal agriculture with preferences given to working students.

  • Jo Ann Smith Scholarship

    Animal Science student who demonstrates leadership, scholarship and professional promise in the beef cattle industry.

  • Ray Kempfer Memorial Scholarship

    Students who show professional promise, leadership, and dedication to the beef industry. Preference given to students active in the Block & Bridle Club, FCW and/or FCA.

  • Florida Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship

    Student with demonstrated leadership and professional promise in the beef industry. Block & Bridle Club, FCA and/or judging team participation desireable.

  • Florida Cattlewomen’s Association Scholarship

    Animal Sciences student with interest in beef cattle production and marketing, leadership, and scholarship and an active member of FCW.

  • Raymond B. Becker Scholarship

    Animal Sciences students with demonstrated interest in the dairy industry. Support may be in the form of academic or travel scholarships.

  • Elroy L. Decker Scholarship

    Florida residents demonstrating need, enrolled in Dairy Science classes, and maintaining a B average.

  • C. W. Reaves 4-H Dairy Scholarship

    Student(s) pursuing Dairy Science classes in the Department of Animal Science who were Florida 4-H Club members prior to enrolling at UF and participated in noteworthy 4-H Dairy work.

  • Woody and Clare Asbury Scholarship

    ANS student most likely to excel in the art and science of equine practice. The selectee is expected to demonstrate exceptional horsemanship, excellent interpersonal communication skills, an understanding and appreciation for practical approaches to clinical problem solving, and a genuine interest in promoting the broad spectrum of equine health.

    Student with a strong record of service, professional promise, and an interest in 4-H and extension work as a future career path.

    Animal Science student with demonstrated scholarship and interest in international animal agriculture.

    Student with professional leadership and scholarship, with activities in 4-H, FFA or a livestock association. Preference to studnts involved in judging activities.

    Lower division and/or transfer animal sciences students with former 4-H, FFA and/or junior breed association membership. Preference given to students involved in judging activities.

  • Floyd "Sonny" Tillman Scholarship

    Animal Sciences student with scholarship and leadership potential with an interest in the safety and processing of meat and poultry.

  • Animal Sciences Student Excellence Scholarship

    Animal Sciences students with a demonstrated interest in pursuit of meat sciences through course work and/or participation on a meats judging or evaluation team.

  • Baldwin Family Scholarship

    Student in Animal Sciences with demonstrated scholarship, leadership and interest in the meats industry. Working students preferred.

    Animal Sciences student who demonstrates scholarship, leadership, and professional promise.

  • Florida Feed Association Scholarship

    Animal Sciences undergraduate and graduate students who show leadership, service, & professional promise and a desire to work in some aspect of the livestock feed industry. Participation in the summer Florida Feed Association convention is covered in addition to the scholarship.

  • Williams Family Equine Scholarship

    Equine-oriented Animal Sciences student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an expressed interest in pursuing equine graduate research. Pursuit of veterinary school or a career in the Equine Industry.
