2023 Cow Sale 

2023 Sale Format

This year’s sale format will be as follows:

• All cattle will be sold in individual lots. The cattle will be sold in sequential lot order. Data on the sale cattle (weights, breed, birth date, pregnancy status, etc.) will be printed and made available at the sale. Download Cattle Data Here
• Cattle will be available for viewing in the pasture at the Beef Teaching Unit from November 13th through sale day. Please contact Jesse Savell (352-494-3397) to schedule an appointment to view the cattle prior to sale day. On Friday and Saturday, the 17th and 18th, the cattle will be penned by lot number and available for viewing.
• Buyers should register and receive a buyer number on the morning of the sale. You can also pre-register by phone if you are unable to attend in person.
• Reserve bids will be accepted from the 13th until noon on Sale Day. You can submit your reserve bids in person, by phone, email, or mail. If you submit reserve bids on multiple lots you will be expected to purchase each lot on which you are the highest bidder. We will also accept phone bids on sale day. Please contact us ahead of time for sale day phone numbers.
• On the 18^th at 1 pm, we will begin the sale. Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder. Bids should be placed in terms of dollars per head. Bids will increase in $50 increments. Any bid disputes will be settled at the time of the auction, before moving to the next lot. Bids will be acknowledged in the order they are received, with reserve bids taking precedence.
• The University of Florida reserves the right to refuse any bid at its discretion. The University of Florida will establish a minimum bid for each lot. Animals that do not achieve the minimum bid will be marked as “NO SALE” and will be retained by the University of Florida.
