Each year 4-H clubs across the state hold countless local and county horse shows. In the spring, each of the three areas have a qualification show to determine who will be able to participate at the State show. Only the top percentage from each Area qualify to go to State. Moving up through the levels of 4-H Horse Shows is a competitive process and requires good sportsmanship and a thorough knowledge of all the rules by everyone involved.
The Official Rules for the Area and State 4-H Horse Shows are distributed to counties at the beginning of each year in sufficient quantities so that everyone who participates in 4-H horse shows may have his/her own rulebook. 2025 Area and State rulebooks will be sent out early-January. For now, please reference the 2025 Rulebook Changes and New Class List.
